I’ve converted to Target.

Okay, okay. I’ve written entire blog posts about how much I hate used to hate Target. When the kids were younger, and our money was getting burned up each week buying cans of formula and jumbo packages of diapers, Target just pissed me right off. I’m sure part of it was just the crankiness that goes along with parenting two babies and two toddlers, and being exhausted to the point of skipping eyeliner and mascara for almost an entire YEAR. I’ve been warming up to them over the past year or so, though, and I’ve even written about how I was coming around. I’m pleased to say that Target and I are now BFFs, and when I see those concentric red circles off in the distance, my heart jumps for joy, because I know there are good things waiting for me there, like Starbucks and endcaps full of weird clearance items.

I currently have four Target specific items that I am super obsessed with. I’m going to write about two of them today, because I didn’t take pictures of the other two. So, you’ll have another Target blog post to look forward to sometime in the future. Mark your calendars! The two items I’m going to go on and on about are…Market Pantry Fat Free French Vanilla Creamer and Archer Farms Hummus with Caramelized Onions. I’m on a quest to lose a bunch of weight and whenever I find a product that fits into my Lifestyle of Healthful Eating, I become totally obsessed with it. I’m like that.

One night, after my monthly twin club meeting, I didn’t feel like meeting up with everyone for a beer afterward (what was wrong with me?? I have no idea. Anyway…) so I headed down the street to SuperTarget to browse around for an hour before they kicked me out of the store. I decided to pick up a few groceries, and I stood at the refrigerated case for a few minutes, trying to decide what creamer to buy. Generally, I have a thousand children with me when I shop, so I never get the chance to browse – this night, I was enjoying taking my time, so I was reading labels and being all choosy and shit. And this was the first time I ever noticed that the Target store brand creamer was available in fat free, and this huge bottle that it comes in costs roughly the exact amount of the much smaller sized bottle of International Delights or CoffeeMate. Score! I decided to try it. And guess what – it’s really, really good! I think I actually prefer it to the other brands.

And this is what I add to my salad almost every day – a tablespoon of this fantastic hummus. It’s also really good with sugar snap peas. Just measure that shit out, because it is REALLY good, and it would be easy to eat the entire container in one sitting. That would not be a good thing. Besides using up your entire day’s allotment of fat grams, you’d probably blow yourself around the room for hours with gas.

So. There you have it – my current Target obsessions!
