Mabel’s Labels

Are you one of those ridiculously organized people who adores order and structure and … labels? I just found your DREAM website: Mabel’s Labels. This site is full of labels for all kinds of things. The iron-on clothing labels actually really stood out for me, as this would be IDEAL for our autistic son – my husband’s been bugging me to “brand” his clothing for some time now. And there are pantry labels and spice labels you can put on all your containers in the kitchen. What I really loved, though, was the Ultimate Back-To-School Combo, featuring those cute little dogtag-style bag tags. Kayley would really like these, and there are a bunch of darling little icons you can have printed along with the name. The site has a little tag-builder thing where you can preview exactly what the finished product will look like. Thumbs up all around! Check it out. Your Mabel’s Labels agent is Nicole Lee

Munchkin Spill-Proof Sports Bottles

It’s no secret that we are huge fans of Munchkin products around here – I’ve reviewed their foam bath letters in the past, and today I’m going to tell you about something else from Munchkin that my kids have been using and abusing for the past few months: Spill-Proof Sports Bottles featuring Dora the Explorer and Go, Diego, Go!

We received four of these the night before we headed out for our road trip to California. My kids used them HEAVILY for an entire week, and if you check out our family pictures, you can see them sipping on Gatorade and ice water out of these bottles in front of Big Bear Lake, while seated at Manuel’s El Teypeyac restaurant in east L.A., at various In-N-Out burger locations, and of course, all day LONG at Disneyland.

When your little one is on the go, let her enjoy a refreshing drink in a spill-proof sports bottle that features Dora. The soft, built-in silicone spout and valve helps transition your little lady from bottle to cup with ease. And, the contoured shape makes it easy to grasp. So be a sport and let your kid in on the action.

The bottles are a nice size for little kids. I have twin almost-5-year-olds and twin 3 1/2-year-olds, and my kids may actually be on the older end of the spectrum as far as these bottles are concerned. They worked GREAT for us, but they’d be even better for little ones just barely off the bottle. The soft plastic spout is made from the same squishy material as a typical baby bottle nipple, so it’s not hard at all on little tender gums and teeth, and VERY easy to drink from. If these had been available when my monkeys were littler, I would have been all over them for sure. The shape of the bottles also makes them super easy for little chubby hands to hold onto.

We used these bottles almost daily for two whole months. Sadly, one of ours has gone missing – I’m sure it’s stashed away under the slide or something – and we’ve been mourning its loss for a couple of weeks now. Even after going through the dishwasher dozens of times, the bottles look nearly new. Thumbs up all around from the Casa de Chaos.

EZ School Supplies

Many of you saw my post a couple of weeks ago about buying school supplies for my two little kindergarteners. I was lucky and was able to find everything I needed at one store for a change – last year, I had to run all over town trying to track down everything on the list! I wish I’d known about EZSchoolSupplies.com. You can buy everything you need for school on the EZSchoolSupplies website at reasonable prices, without even leaving your desk chair. Much better than dragging the kids all over the store and fighting with them over which pencils to buy, right?

Best of all, your school can enroll with EZSchoolSupplies.com and receive a 10% donation of the total net sales, either as a cash donation or in the form of additional supplies. The program is available to all public, private and charter schools, along with any group, organization, or team. It’s just a matter of organizing the information between the school and parents, via the PTO or other organization. Teachers can create their school supply lists right online and parents can go to the site and shop for the exact set of supplies their child needs. And even if your school doesn’t sign up, you can save 10% off your order right now by using this coupon code: EZMB008

How great is this idea? I love efficiency!

School Supplies for Two

School Supplies for Two, originally uploaded by lalagirl.

We made a trip to Wal-Mart last night for school supplies. I feel like I was cutting it close, since the kids start kindergarten in just a couple of days! I refuse to pay “off season” prices, though, and I wanted to wait until the seasonal school supplies appeared in the stores. They were JUST putting it out yesterday at Wal-Mart, so we got first pick!

I got a bunch of stuff for our house, too – you can’t beat boxes of crayons for $.20 each, especially the way we go through them!

Don’t you love those little lunch boxes? Awww.
