Slendertone EnerVive Review!

Check out this weirdo crazy cool thing I got to review recently:

It’s called the Slendertone EnerVive. It’s this little contraption that zaps your muscles with electronic pulses via these sticky pad things you place on your skin. The product was accompanied by a detailed map showing exactly how to place the pads so you don’t injure yourself. Some of the selling points of this system:

  • 6 muscle conditioning programs
  • Soothe tired muscles in 7 different body parts including upper back, lower back, legs and shoulders
  • Easy to use and portable
  • Professional technology at the touch of a button anytime anywhere
  • Can reduce muscle tension and fatigue
  • Leaves you feeling relaxed and revived

I was a little weirded out by the idea of this. I mean, I’m not at all opposed to poisoning my body with leftover Halloween candy, but intentionally zapping my muscles to relax them just seemed crazy and weird. But, I tried it. And let me tell ya – the only play this machine will be getting in this house is from me. There is no possible way Paul could use it – the pads are the stickiest thing I’ve ever seen in my life. Naturally. I mean, they have to stay on your body! Your hairless body. Persons with body hair need to steer clear of this thing.

But, I used it, and I think it works. It didn’t really come naturally to me, but I figured it out. I tried it on my lower back, where I have 99% of my debilitating back pain. It felt kind of creepy. Not in a bad way, just like, WHOA! Okay, I guess it’s supposed to feel like that. Carry on. And afterward, I felt pretty good. There are little pre-programmed uh, programs you can cycle through with a hand-held button thingy, like the massage chairs at the pedicure salons. It’s easy to use.

And hey, Christmas is coming! You probably know someone who likes stuff like this a lot, I’ll bet. Possibly someone really into fitness, or gadgetry. Check out the Slendertone site for the EnerVive and other cool products. And, a big thanks to Role Mommy for sending this thing to me to review!

  • Wednesday, 9/17 FREE PIE IN LARIMER SQUARE!

Hey, Denver people! Listen up! This post is of utmost importance, as it concerns PIE.

I wanted to pass along what sounds like such a fun event! Are you a fan of the ABC hit show, Pushing Daisies? I’ll admit, I’ve never seen it. And it looks AWESOME, like a show I would completely LOVE, but I just can’t seem to find time to commit myself to obsessing about another show, what with that whole, “parenting five children” thing and all. But this event might make me change my mind! They’re pushing pie, PIE, people! Who doesn’t like pie?

It’s the Mobile Pie Hole – a truck traveling the country all throughout September, giving away free pie (pie!!) to kick off the second season of Pushing Daisies. The Pie Hole will be in Denver this Wednesday, September 17th, at Larimer Square from 10 to 2. They’re going to be serving up free pie, and giving away pie-cutters, spatulas, and more! Stop by and get some free pie! Tell them LaLaGirl sent you!

I wonder what I’d have to do to score one of those awesome daisy bicycles??

The Stay At Home Dad ROCKS OUT!

    I LOVE this!!

    Munchkin Project Pink

Check out this cute pink duck! It’s the little mascot for Munchkin baby products’ new Project Pink Campaign, which is bringing awareness to early cancer prevention, reminding mothers everywhere not to “duck a breast exam.”

On the Project Pink site’s Email a Duck, Raise a Buck page, you can decorate a duck of your own, and then email it to all your friends. For every emailed duck, Munchkin is donating five cents to Susan G. Komen breast cancer foundation’s Komen for the Cure.

The campaign actually began on August 1st, but I’m just now getting around to posting about it. Breast Cancer Awareness Month actually begins in October, though, and there’s lots going on with Project Pink between now and then! You can buy a duck like the one pictured here for just $2.99, with 100% of the proceeds going to Komen for the Cure. From late September through the month of October, you can also pick up one of these from Babies R’ Us, Target, Kmart, Meiger, HEB, Fred Meyer, Burlington, Buy Buy Baby, Rite Aid, Longs, and Zellers.

And in October, celebrity decorated pink ducks will be available for auction on eBay with all proceeds going to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. You can check out the celebrity photos on the site. Munchkin makes so many amazing products for babies and young children – I LOVE that they’re focusing on the mamas, and bringing awareness to breast cancer.
