Yummy Diet Rite

I am so in love with Diet Rite Red Raspberry soda, it actually hurts my feelings a little bit when I go to a supermarket that doesn’t carry it. I love the Cola too, but the Red Raspberry is my favorite. I’ve even got Paul’s little brother hooked on it, and that’s saying something – they don’t like “diet” anything! This soda has no carbs, no sodium, no sugar, no caffeine, NO ASPARTAME, (it’s sweetened with Splenda) and it actually tastes REALLY good. I had no idea, though, that it came in eleventy-seven more flavors.

Diet Rite comes in seven delicious flavors: Black Cherry, Tangerine, White Grape, Cola, Cherry Cola, Red Raspberry, and Kiwi Strawberry. The availability of these flavors in your area is determined by your local bottler.

Well, now I’m really hurt! How could they only offer this wonderful product in only Cola, Tangerine, and Red Raspberry? Damn you, local bottler!

The Wonder Pets “Save the Beetles!”

Wonder Pets Tonight’s the night! Catch the premier of the Wonder Pets “Save the Beetles!”

We had a chance to prescreen this episode awhile back and it is SO STINKIN’ CUTE. Seriously, most of the jokes go right above the kids’ heads – it’s written more for the grownups, particularly those of us who are fans of The Beatles. The Wonder Pets head out to Jolly Old England to rescue the famous rock band, “The Beetles” – they are trapped under water when their yellow submarine gets caught in kelp. Of course, they have to sing, “Help!” or rather, “Kelp!”

There’s a new kind of Beatlemania craze hitting the preschool airwaves as The Wonder Pets! travel to Liverpool, England, to save their favorite rock band on “Save the Beetles!”, a new primetime musical adventure premiering Monday, April 21, at 7:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon. The Wonder Pets! tribute to the Fab Four features Lenie Colacino and Tom Teeley of Broadway’s Beatlemania as guest voices for the famous animated bug band The Beetles. The new mini-operetta is composed by Larry Hochman (orchestration for Monty Python’s Spamalot), who also serves as lead composer on the series.

Also included in this episode is a second new adventure called “Three Wonder Pets And A Baby!” In this story, a Piglet comes to live in the classroom, but The Wonder Pets each want to take care of it on their own. They realize they must work together to care for the rather large baby pig. It’s super cute. I really like this show! It’s one of my kids’ favorites, but I find myself humming along to the songs and then singing them later with the kids. If you miss the episode tonight, no worries. It’s coming out on DVD tomorrow, so head on over to Target and pick up a copy.

I can’t wait until I have time to sit down and write all about the amazing time I had at the Sony Mommy Blogger Event!

For now, I’ll just share this photo – I took it as soon as I entered my hotel room. Now that’s a view I could get used to! I love seeing the mountains every day, but man – seeing the ocean and palm trees was a REAL nice change of pace!

Tune in for details about the event in the next day or so.

I am so jealous, and I’m not even a mommy blogger.

I have the NYC comic book convention this weekend instead…um, it’s going to be the warmest spring weekend on the East Coast and I’ll be stuck in the Javitz Center with a bunch of smelly nerds.

(I kid. I love nerds.)

Enjoy your adventure. There aren’t even words to explain how richly you deserve it.

Sleeping Alone in a King Sized Bed

I’m getting ready to go nighty night in my big old bed, all by myself. I’m thoroughly enjoying myself in LaJolla so far. The other blogging gals here went to dinner together, but I wasn’t able to join them because I was getting a complimentary massage. And wow, it was amazing! After that, I came back up to my room, listened to the ocean, and ordered room service.

My friend Julie came by at about 9:30 or so. We walked around a little bit, and she got a gelato at a little shop across the way. Then we came back up to my room and just talked, and looked at pictures of the kids, and pictures of the sets she’s designed at her job. She seems so happy. I’m happy for her! I miss my Julie-boolie, but California’s been good to her, it seems.

I talked to Paul, and it sounds like I missed a great show tonight. We had tickets to see Blue Man Group with big Paul and Suzi, but since I’m here, Paul took my dad instead. My dad neeeeever gets to see or do anything fun like that, and he’s a big fan of BMG, so I suggested Paul take him. It sounds like they had a blast!

And now I’m off to bed. It’s only 11:30, but I’m on Denver time, so it feels like 12:30. My bed was turned down and there was a fluffy robe and slippers laid out for me when I got back. I mentioned this to Paul and he said, “Don’t get used to that pampering, babe. Remember: we live in the ghetto.” Ha!

Tomorrow’s going to be a busy busy day, and it should be a whole lot of fun too. I’m so excited to be here. Whee!
